Aortic Aneurysm: The Abdominal Aorta is the large artery which runs in front of the spine. As we get older, the walls can sometimes weaken and balloon out, this is termed an aneurysm when it is more than 3cm wide.
Men are 6 times more likely to have an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA), sometimes called a triple A, than women. If detected early enough, the condition can be corrected by surgery.
