Bay Scan is an ultrasound service, which offers all types of pregnancy scans including 3D and 4D baby scans. Take a look at the 3D/4D page.

Reassurance scans in early pregnancy from 7 weeks onwards for parents who are not prepared to wait until the 12 weeks NHS scan, and are are excited to see their new baby as soon as possible.  

Nuchal Translucency scans,are also offered for Down's Syndrome screening to women in Lancaster, Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man, (see Nuchal Translucency page). 

 
3rd Trimester growth and well being: We also offer a number of obstetric ultrasound packages to help you to be assured of your baby's well being.  We can check your baby's growth and well being in the weeks between the 20 week scan and the birth of the baby, when you are not normally offered an NHS scan. 28 to 32 weeks is an ideal age to come and have a wellbeing check and growth scan, and at just £65 is money well spent.   

Gender scans:  If you are excited to know what gender your baby is then give us a call, we will try to determine the gender of you baby from 16 weeks onwards.

We also offer all types of non obstetric scans & fertility work up scans.

Bay scan is based at Parkfield, an elegant georgian mansion situated in Greaves Park, just 15 minutes walk from Lancaster city centre.  Parkfield has featured in Lancaster history, and  was once owned by the Williamson family of Williamson Park fame, the parents of Lord Ashton.  Parkfield changed ownership in 2006 and is undergoing careful long term refurbishment by the present owner.  Parkfields' hallway with its stained glass windows is just stunning. There is free parking outside Parkfield.

The ultrasound service is owned and run by dedicated and highly respected sonographers, with a wealth of ultrasound experience, working in both the NHS and private sector.
We pride ourselves on our communication skills, and are known for our excellent rapport with clients. We use high specification GE Voluson technology, ensuring all imaging is of the highest quality. In addition, you will be able to view your scan live on a 37inch LCD screen, so there is no need for the mum to be to crane her neck to get a glimpse of baby.
